More Dredging at the top of the Creek

Another Dredger has been at work in the Creek, alongside the Town Quay just below the Bridge. This one is privately owned and recently commissioned; it was designed for local use to maintain Faversham and Oare Creeks.

The first picture shows the powerful water jets that are lowered down and used to agitate  the silt so that it is held in suspension in the water, and goes downstream with the ebb. It remains in suspension long enough, about 4-6 hours, for it to move right down into the Swale and out into the Thames, back where it came from.
