The Barn Dance on Friday night was another great success and congratulations must heaped on the many people involved, especially those who gave their time and skills for free, without which we could not have raised the funds that we did; a total of £2,260.
Firstly we must thank Mike Wheeler and Ruth Cronk, the Caller, and the whole of the Navigation Steam Band – again. What a band that is, you won’t normally see a band that big at any dance for a £10 ticket!
And the girl with the golden voice, singer and songwriter Helen North, so remember where you first heard her, if you have never been fortunate enough before, then you can say ‘I heard her before she became famous….’
Then there were the really excellent donated Raffle prizes; the beautiful Joan Mackarell necklace, the Martin Laurance seascape, the Trip aboard the Sailing Barge Mirosa, by Sally and Peter Dodds. Tour tickets from Shepherd Neame, Theatre tickets, P&O Day Trip to France tickets, the Expensive Bottles and the Ice Cream from Chill [not Chilli Ice Cream as announced, although that too if desired]
and finally One for the Wife [or the Bachelor], 3 Hours of Housework.
We must thank Brian Pain for printing the Dance posters and tickets, designed by the illustrator Ben White, and all the people who sold them, especially Lotty’s Flower shop, and all the helpers on the night who set it up and cleared it away.
Many Many Thanks to you ALL, without all your interest and effort it could not have happened so well, but last and certainly not least, we must thank Mastermind Six for his time and energy in organising it all – again.
THANK YOU SIXER.
