Swing Bridge Loan Consultation
At a meeting on 24 August, Faversham Town Council agreed to apply to the Secretary of State for borrowing approval of a loan of £175,000. The discussion paper can be found here.
The public is invited to comment on the Town Council’s decision over the next 4 weeks, in time for the next meeting of the Town Council on 21 September. The following points should be noted:
The Town Council has not yet decided on the loan period
It will not be using any unallocated reserves
It believes this will not increase the precept, as the loan repayments should be found within the current precept request
The Town Council must also decide to borrow, once approval of the Secretary of State has been given
In the unlikely event of the funding not being required, the Town Council will not proceed to take out the loan
The loan, if taken out, will begin to be repaid in the financial year 2016/17
If you have any comments, please send them to the Town Council offices before Friday, 11 September. They can be emailed (Adrienne.firstname.lastname@example.org) or posted: Deputy Town Clerk, Faversham Town Council, Alexander Centre, Preston Street, Faversham, Kent, ME13 8NY.
