Creek Trust During Lockdown

Nearly all our events have had to be cancelled during the lockdown. However, the Board has continued to meet online every month, and we have continued our fundraising and boat-building activities throughout.  We had a very successful and positive AGM via Zoom in the Spring attended by many members.

We continue our efforts behind the scenes to press the County Council for an opening bridge, working with officers from KCC, our MP Helen Whately, and other interested parties. We expect to see a new bridge installed as soon as the engineering difficulties are resolved.

We are delighted to have been able to support the St Ayles Skiffs community boat-building project run by Alan Thorne and Jude Sach from inside our HQ the Purifier Building, and commissioned the first of what we hope will be a series of these beautiful sea-going rowboats – the Avocet.  The skiffs will compete in races with other coastal towns as part of the Cinque Ports Rowing Races, another new project in which we are participating.  The new Faversham Rowing Club is another community endeavour which the Trust is proud to support.
